Props to My Mom

My mom, sister and I with hitchhiker Cindy

After taking some time off from this blog I'm back at it.  The photo above shows me, my sister, my mom and I with hitchhiker Cindy.  We picked Cindy up on our road trip to South Dakota this summer.

As I was pulling over to pick up Cindy my mom was yelling "Nat don't pick up a stranger!"  I just had a good feeling about Cindy, plus I figured she would give my mom something to do besides complain about the temperature in the car.  I kindly asked hitchhiker Cindy not to shank my mom, and put her in the backseat with her.

A few hours and a thorough interrogation later, Cindy was my mom's newly adopted daughter.  My mom invited Cindy to stay with her in her hotel room and said a tearful goodbye when we had to drop Cindy off the next day.

My mom had provided much of the content of this blog.  She was a fabulous lady who knew how to laugh at herself, and others, enjoying both regularly.

Sadly she passed away.  My sense of humor is something my mom appreciated, even if she didn't understand it at times.  Laughter was a medicine she handed out often.

I haven't posted anything on this blog for awhile but I'm back at it now, inspired by my mom who was quick to laugh, and even quicker to love.  Just ask hitchhiker Cindy, who for the record did not shank my mom.  My mother died due to a complication of pneumonia.

Battle of the Potty Mouths

18 year old Lovey and 12 year old Big J were doing the dishes together.  I should have known the calm and togetherness was too good to be true.

Lovey to Big J: "Stop doing that dumbass."

Me: "Lovey don't talk to your brother like that."

Lovey: "Sorry I didn't know you were in the room."

The ridiculous thing here is Lovey thought my issue was only with her calling her brother a dumbass in front of me.  I shudder to think about what she calls him when I'm not around.

True Cause of Global Warming

God bless my mother and the 3-5 phone calls a day she has with me.  We all sometimes loose our train of thought, but what threw my mother off course takes it to a whole new level.

So here I am on the phone with my mother who was sharing with me the latest details of her basement remodel, when suddenly:

Mom:  Damn it one of my dogs just farted! They have been doing this ever since I gave them canned dog food.  Now what the hell was I saying before I got knocked out by that methane gas?"

Stop Licking Yourself in Public!

If you have been keeping up on this blog you may know my mother has a deaf Chihuahua named Leeloo, whom she treats like a human baby.

The other day my mom was over with Leeloo for a visit.  Leeloo was self pleasuring herself as she often does, this is when my mother blurts out the following to the deaf dog:

Mom:  "Leeloo I told you not to lick your privates in public!"

I start laughing as I find this not just an absurd thing to say to a dog, but to yell it at a deaf dog is hysterical.  To which my mom responds:

Mom: "If you put that on your blog I swear to God I'll kill you!"

So, if anything happens to me after this post, look to my mother and her deaf Chihuahua.

Which came first?

I dropped out of high school at 15.  At 39 I returned to school and got my GED.  My 11 year old son saw this picture and was confused about why his mom was graduating from high school but his then 19 year old sister Double D was in the picture.

Big J says to Double D: "Shouldn't you have been swimming around in some guys ball sac while mom was in high school?"
